3750 Allow UDP Port 42508 Broadcast

We've recently upgrade our Anti-virus software and in order for the Admin server to discover the clients software our Cisco 3750 stack needs to allow UDP Port 42508 Broadcasts.

Checked in various manuals and websites and cannot get it to work. We already have an IP helpdesk setup for DHCP.

I thought I could just add a Global Paramenter of IP Forward-protocol 42508. When i add and save, it doesn't show up in the running-config - and the Admin that sits on a different segment can't see any of the clients.

Any help would be highly appreciated!!!!!

Re: 3750 Allow UDP Port 42508 Broadcast

just tried it on a 3750 in a lab that is configured to route between vlan 1 and 2. It took the config...

interface Vlan1

ip address

no ip route-cache

interface Vlan2

ip address

ip helper-address

ip classless

ip forward-protocol udp 42508

switch#show ver
