3750 Stackwise

I've inherited a LAN comprising 4 x 2950-48 access switches uplinked in a redundant star config to 2 x 3750 cores (linked to each other via a 2Gb etherchannel). I need to add a 3rd 3750. I'm thinking the best way to do this would be to drop the etherchannel and connect all 3 up via stackwise links, and then distribute the access switches across the stack. Am I correct in my thinking ?

Re: 3750 Stackwise

Yes, you are correct.

The very salient feature of the Cisco StackWise Technology is to have all the switches in a StackWise to behave like one giant switch.

There shouldn't be any issues with this.

Re: 3750 Stackwise

yeah what you say is perfectly alright & will not be an problem, as samuel said, 3 Nos. of 3750 will act as single gaint switch of having 32Gbps backplane capacit each & from each switch of 3750, you can distribute it to 2950-48*4 Nos. like 2 Nos. in 1st 3750 & rest 2 Nos of 2950-48 in remaining 2 Nos. of 3750.

hope this helps.
