IF I Have 4 dist connected to the coreshould i summurize from one dist or on all the dist.i have this network.

the routing protocole is EIGRP.

Hi

u need not mention it beoz u r not summarizing the networks u r just advertising a single network in the core.we could have used the summary address if we had a group of contigious networks in ur dist.here there is no need for summarization.

WE SHOULD SUMARIZING THIS NETWORKS TOWARD THE CORE TO STOP EIGRP QUERIES FROM PROPAGATING BEYOND THE CORE NETWORK.WHERAS PREVENT THE CORE FROM CONFUSING.HOW DO I ACIEVE THIS FROM EACH DIST?

As u have said that u want to prevent queries from propogating from core to other networks then why dnot u summarize at the core.why r u summarizing it at dist.as u know already the commands for summarization u can implement it at the core.

I think u need a better understanding of functions of eigrp plz dnot mind.

see as u r having different networks in the dist to it is good to advertise them individually then as a summary-route.we use summarozation if we are having a contigious networks.

so at the core u will have seprate routes for u r individual dist networks.now if u r core is connected with other networks then u can summarize the dist networks at the core to the other network.

as u r having

10.1.0.0

10.2.0.0

10.3.0.0

10.4.0.0

the summary address will be

eigrp summary-address 100 10.0.0.0 255.248.0.0

in this command we r summarizing all the above networks.

according to u r diagram i would suggest u to advertise u r networks individually.than to use summarization as u r having a discontigiuos network.

if anyone has any better solution plz do post it.

Hello Mahmood,

Why do you think this network is discontiguous?

10.0.0.0/8 is subneted into /16 networks, but those 5 subnets are all grouped. So no auto-summary and ip summary-address eigrp would be a good option.
