4003 Supervisory Engine Compatibility

Hi all,

I just want to know if the 4003 CAT is only to be used with a SUP I blade. From what I read on documentation I don't think it's compatible with the SUP II , much less the SUP III for that matter. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You are correct, 4003 only works with SupI. 4006 will work with SupII or SupIII.

Re: 4003 Supervisory Engine Compatibility

I am configuring a 4006 RSM. Do you know of any REALLY GOOD documentation on setting up the 2 internal GIG channels along with whether or not I should port channel and/or trunk on those 2 backplane channels? I have to configure OSPF on this rsm and give it a static route to my corporate router which is a 3com product. I know that if I choose th trunk than the 3com link must know about the new VLAN subnet as well as ecapsulate using dot1Q. Correct ????
