4006 Error

Has anyone seen this error before? What does it mean? I only have two gig ports on the switch and neither one is being used...

%SYS-4-P2_WARN: 1/Blocked queue on gigaport 29, ( 2411 : 0 )

thanks

Re: 4006 Error

Hello,

which software release are you using ? Try to upgrade to 5.2(7), there is a caveat in the release notes for this version which talks about this error message:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat4000/relnotes/78_6584.htm

Do a search for ´gigaport´ in this document and you will see the explanation.

Re: 4006 Error

Usually, it indicates there is some L1 issue on one or more ports. Do a "show port counters" and see if there are any excessive/incrementing errors on any of the ports. If not, it's possible there is a HW problem and you will need to open a case with TAC. Other commands to send to TAC include:

show tech

show logging buffer 1023

show nvramenv 1

show health 1

dump 1

Please note that some commands are hidden and an explanation for the output will not be given.
