4006 internal architecture

I see in technical documents that the 4006 has three 24 Gbps switche fabric.

Is it true ? And how are they connected together and to the modules ?.

Re: 4006 internal architecture

Which document are you looking at? This one http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/si/casi/ca4000/prodlit/4kse3_ds.htm says that the Switching throughput depends on the supervisor engine card you use.

Simplified the Supervisor Engine II gives you 24 Gbps, 18 Mpps (Layer 2 only) and the Supervisor Engine III gives you 64 Gbps, 48 Mpps (Cisco Express Forwarding based) (Layer 2/3/4)

Ofcourse its a little more complicated than that, take a look and see what you think.

Hi,

I see it at the URL http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/ca4000.htm#ov

in the Table 21-102: Supervisor Engine Features for Catalyst 4000 Family
