If I didn't want to use the me1 nor sl0 interface for addressing.....is the SC0 interface pretty much my only option left for management addressing? I can't telnet to it from a workstation because it is an in-band interface versus out-of-band like the others. I can only telnet to it from layer 2 devices such as another switch. Can anyone confirm this???

sc0 is the only interface you can use for management purpose(ping/telnet). me1 is for disaster recovery only

Check to see if you have any permit list set up. If you do, try disabling it and try to telnet

Yes Sco is your only option left if you don't want to use any other interface. This provide the remote management to the switch. You can telnet to the switch from anywhere ( from different networks if the default gateway is defined) and from any decive which can run the telnet client, mean any workstation.
