Hi
I have a Cat 4006 with a Sup III engine and I really need to get IPX routed.
Is it possible to connect an external router and route IPX "on-a-stick".
I read that there will be a new release of software in August but I cannot wait.
Tanks

Yes. You can trunk to an external router and configure sub-interfaces and do IPX routing on the router

I have the same problem and I can use a 7204 VXR as the "stick-router". Can any one show me a configuration example with a few VLANs.
I use the 4006 to route IP. I connect my 7204´s FE0/0 interface to int GE3/1on 4006 to route IPX.

IPX routing available in supIII in the august/september release is limited low kpps software switching. So router on a stick or mainly IP implementation is what this box is intended for.
