I am trying to create a list of what advantages the 4006 has over the 3550
for use in the Core/Distribution layer and the biggest advantage I've come
up with is that the 4006 supports AVVID. I am in the process of creating a
proposal for a client and I am leaning towards combining the Core and
Distribution layer using two 4006 switches running HSRP and 3550s in the
Access layer running UplinkFast with connections to each 4006.
Any advice, feedback, suggestions, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

I'm assuming the 4006's are gonna have Supervisor 3 engines. You can find some Key Features at

Yes, the 4006s will have the Supervisor III cards installed.
Thanks for the link.
