4506 SUP-4 Bridging configuration

Hello.

Can I configure bridging on the 4506-SupIV ?

I need to configure some interfaces with ip-address and bridging between them ,

Can I do it ?

Nope..The Supervisor 3/4 does not support bridging

Any idea why doesn't it support bridging (L3 card with the SUPII does support it) ?

Any idea if and when will it support bridging ?

Sup3/4 is a newer Supervisors and is designed for HW forwarding of IPv4 packets upto 48Mpps. Bridging even if supported would be through software switching path and not as nearly as high performance as ipv4 switching.

We can't comment on future support of this feature at this time.
