4507R reloaded unexpectedly!!

Hi,

One of our 4507Rs reloaded overnight - the only clue we have is the the sh ver output contains the reason for the reload "System returned to ROM by abort at PC 0x0". The Cisco web site suggest that the config register may be set wrong but it is set to the value recommended. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Paste outputs of sh ver and show platform crashdump. If you have redundant Sup, paste output of "more slavecrashinfo:data" as well.

Your switch crashed due to ECC error. There is a bug in ROMMON software

Upgrade the ROMMON and also IOS to 12.2(25)EWA4.
