"Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Supervisor Engine V (WS-X4516)
The Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Supervisor Engine V supports up to 96 Gbps of Layer 2-4 switching and 72 millions of packets per second (mpps) of performance. Existing Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series supervisor engines (II-Plus, III, and IV) support 64 Gbps and 48 mpps. Other enhancements include 802.1Q tunneling, broadcast and multicast suppression (storm control) in hardware, and support for four active uplinks on redundant supervisor engine configurations. The Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Supervisor Engine V, when deployed in a Cisco Catalyst 4510R chassis, offers port scalability for resilient and higher density wiring closets, Layer 3 distribution points, and large branch office deployments."
