If I set a port to smartport server mode(so that the port can support a DHCP server) then my remote http connecion to this switch (though a gigabit port) runs like treacle i.e. slowly. If I physically unplug the DHCP server the http session comes back. If I plug the DHCP server back in, it's treacle time again!
What's going on? I am using the 12.2.25FY software on the 24Fe/2Ge model.
I have read something about having to leave these switches for some time for them to settle down when such smartports are enabled? All users sessions on the switch carry on as normal whilst the http session is slow.
I am a newbie to these switches so sorry for asking such basic questions !! I will look further into cco but was wondering if this is a common problem?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
