5000 Port set to 10/half doesn't connect but 100/full does
Have a WS-C5000 with a card WS-X5213 running 4.5(5). When we connect a pc to the port, the PC is set for Auto negotiation. If the Port is set to 10/half, the port shows not connect and they are unable to connect. If the port is set to 100/full they are able to connect. Any ideas? Thanks.

For speed and duplex negotiation either set both ends to auto negotiate or static assign both switch port and client to desired setting (both 10/half or 100/full). The default is auto on both switch port and host NIC card, the auto negotiate is fairly stable but some admins still lock down with static settings.
Always set end devices and switch to same (ie auto/auto or fixed/fixed). Servers/printers/network devices I think should always be hard coded to avoid any issues. PC/switch combo can be auto/auto but all others should be fixed.
