5500 and NetBEUI

I have a customer that runs an app that is dependent on NetBEUI. The users at an office across the street from the NOC connect this way

Remote office CAT5->5500-> Fiber 5500-> CAT5 Server.

Will the 5500 pass NetBEUI? Is it capable of it? Could it possibly be filtered out?

Re: 5500 and NetBEUI

The cat 5k out of the box is a straight layer 2 switch. It will allow netbios to transverse the fiber since all the cat 5k sees is a data frame and forwards it according to a CAM lookup. This is saying of course that there is no layer 3 routing between the two sites.

If there is routing in the picture forwarding that netbios would need to be done in IOS with a helper address statement.
