5505 supIIIG: slow while having super high THREAD value

Hi,

We have a 5505 with supervisor IIIG 32MB CatOS 5.5.4b, RSM, and one 10/100BaseTX Ethernet WS-X5225R that runs slow ones every minute or so.

When i issue a 'show proc cpu' command on the supervisor i sometimes see super high values for a THREAD process. (output below)

Also, the RSM (Mem=128MB IOS 12.0(5)W5(12)) lost part of its configuration last week.

What does this TRHREAD process on the supervisor do? Or is the RSM defective?

Does anyone have a clue? Thanks in advance,

Erik

Re: 5505 supIIIG: slow while having super high THREAD value

THREAD is the process that actually processes any SNMP request. The snmp process first receives any snmp request and then calls the THREAD process to process the request. The snmp process is invoked by the kernel when the system comes up. THREAD process will be invoked by the snmp process as soon as it receives a SNMP request

Check your polling frequency or prevent unwanted users from polling the router.
