6500 Backplane Traffic?

We are running a 6513, Sup2's, hybrid, ver 8.3.7 as a collapsed backbone with many gig fiber links providing connectivity to directly attached servers in a single data center.

We plan to transition the servers to access layer 6500's connected by multiple 10G links.

How can I determine the actual traffic across the backplane of the existing 6513?

You can use the command "sh system" to check for backplane traffic if running hybrid OS.

Or you could use MRTG/RRDtool to gather longterm stats.

what other methods are there to check backplane utilization on the 6513? I am not running hybrid OS and I want to be able to see a trend of it. Also, I do not have MRTG/RRDtool.

It means basically as of your snapshot time that your backplane usuage is less than 1 % , you had a peak of 20% on 12/31/05 at 7:24 AM .
