6500 backplane

Just a clarification question. On the documentation for the Supervisor 720 it states slots 1-8 connect to the 720Gbps fabric via a 20Gbs connection and slots 9-13 connect via 2 20Gbs connection. These connections are full duplex, right?

8 Slots X 20 Gbps=160Gbps

5 Slots X 40 Gbps=200Gbps

=

360Gpbs. I think they are full duplex connections, and that's how you get the 720. Is that right?

TIA

Re: 6500 backplane

"720 Gbps" is pure marketing, so don't attempt to read any technical meaning into it.

I guess the argument could be something along the lines of "Hey, 1 Gbps enters on this port and 1 Gbps exits on this ports, so that's 2 Gbps". But then you might as well refer to a T1 as "3 Gbps"...

The technical number is 360 Gbps, as you've found.
