6500 limit throughput on Fast ethernet interface

will the following commands limit the input on a fast ethenet interface WS-X6348-rj45 to 20MB.

Cat6500(config)# access-list 101 permit ip 205.141.209.128 255.255.255.128 any Cat6500(config)# access-list 101 permit ip 192.136.34.0 255.255.255.0 any Cat6500(config)# access-list 101 permit ip 205.142.126.0 255.255.255.0 any Cat6500(config)# access-list 101 permit ip 205.142.125.0 255.255.255.0 any

Cat6500(config)# policy-map 3Com

Cat6500(config-pmap)# policy-map 3Com access-group 101

Cat6500(config-pmap-c)# no trust

Cat6500(config-pmap-c)# police 20000 1 confirm-action set-dscp-transmit 24

Cat6500(config-pmap)# exit

Hi

AFAIK its a three step procees which includes configuring class-maps,policy maps and attaching the same under the interface using service-policy..

Here you got to have the access-list matching the traffic..which you call it as classifying the traffic pattern.

but u didnt bind that under a class-map which is again to be binded under the policy map where u can do necessary marking,shaping or policing as per ur wish..
