6500 NO ICMP redirecs or sporatic at best.

I have a 6500 sup2 MFSC2 running Hybrid mode with 7.2.2 and 12.1.8E4

I do not get ANY ICMP redirects from router unless I put in a extended access-list with "permit ip any any log". The logging forces the packet to MFSC.

Re: 6500 NO ICMP redirecs or sporatic at best.

The reason you are seeing the redirects when you are logging the acl is because this causes the packets to be punted to the processor. There has been a bug filed for this behavior (which is caused by CEF).

CSCdu21212 - Icmp redirects not sent with Cef enabled

So if you upgrade to the latest 12.1E code, you should be able to see the redirects with CEF enabled.
