There is no 48 port card without oversubscription.

All documentation I have read, said that this module connects to backplane at 40 gig. So make sure you do not connect over 40 gig to module. We currently have 6 modules with 40 servers running gig connectivity without any issues.

If you get the WS-X6748-GE-TX with the dcef daughtercard, you can push 40 gigs through the backplane and full line rate within the blade. You could just buy the blade and use only 40 ports and you wouldn't be oversubscribed.

Unfortunately for you to take advantage of the faster access to the backplane you have to upgrad your Supervisor modules to the 720.
