Hi,
Last night we have experienced switch supervisor engine problem on Even Core switch. The supervisor engine was showing Red Alarm. We have checked the syslogs and found the following error message.
9 Aug 2003 22:46:40 GMT+05:30 x.x.x.x %SCP-4-DACK_TIMEOUT_MSG: SCP delivery ack timeout for opcode=118
As per cisco:
This error message comes when multicast mls is enabled and IP PIM is not enabled on L3 interfaces.
In our network IP PIM is enabled and MMLS is active.
Our L2 version is 6.3(6) and L3 is 12.1(19E1)which is not shown in the effected version.
Please provide some inputs.
regards,
shashank

This can be due to bad hardware also.
I think there is a Cisco bug for this:CSCdp49958.

I have the same problem when I shut/no shut the interface vlan on my 6500 or when I switch HSRP on a vlan.
Is there a solution for this problem ? Have you found something which can help me ?
Thanks in advance
