Hi,

I'm facing below error on sup engine and due to that it gets reload after some time.

Aug 24 09:31:28.059 JST: %PM_SCP-SP-2-LCP_FW_ERR_INFORM: Module 1 is experiencing the following error: Pinnacle #0, Above Set Threshold: Re

ceived 1269 Total Frames with Bad Packet CRC Error(s) in 0 Seconds

*Aug 24 09:31:28.059 JST: %C6KERRDETECT-SP-2-CRCCRITLEVEL: System detected CRC error rate on port ASIC data bus exceed fatal threshold limit

on module in slot 1, Error detection count:1

*Aug 24 09:31:34.451 JST: %C6KERRDETECT-SP-2-CRCCRITLEVEL: System detected CRC error rate on port ASIC data bus exceed fatal threshold limit

on module in slot 1, Error detection count:1

According to cisco, it can be any of linecard on 6500 which might be creating problem ?

Is there any command could be test command on Sup enginer which i can execute to get cause of above error ?

Can any body help on this ?

theres no command you can type to get the cause of the error.

your internal switch hardware is sending bad data to the switch logic. (crc errors indicate the data is not at the receiver)

this could be caused by the sender or receiver hardware in the switch.

you can begin trboubleshooting by removing all blades, except a single supervisor, powering on the chassis and thoroughly watching POST, checking tests after post and any logs for errors.

if this goes well, insert one of the removed blades. watch the POST and initialization of the blade and check the test and logs after it's operational. at this point, attempt to pass data, as much as possible, to try and attempt to get the symptom.

if no symptom, do the same with the next blade, etc, etc. until all blades have been tested and you either find your culprit or in worst case must keep looking.

(seems like hardware failure that needs to be replaced)

can TAC replace the supervisor?

TAC is yet to response and telling it could be some line card misbehaving.

Howere i'm plannign to check Pinnacle error on sup for each line card and port when traffic is there as it is live system.

Thanks

Chintan
