My problem is that the 6509 is not propogating/forwarding a new multicast stream. The only thing I?ve noticed is that the 6509 is not recognizing this new multicast from two different new servers running VLC (we've tried linux and windows). If I have a client do an IGMP join on the same vlan it works, I can see the stream. In my configuration I need the 6509 to detect the multicast and stream it regardless of any IGMP join requests. This works for ALL other channels except with our attempts to add our own channel using a linux/windows solution. The 6509 does not recognize the source:
I have over 150 multicast channels streaming from our video head-end with 7 different encoders. I also have a unix server that is sending out another 15 multicasts (10.100.41.10). We?ve sniffed (captured with ethereal) the traffic and we don?t see anything different from other multicasts that work. I?ve gone through this document and haven?t found anything different between the working and failing multicasts. HELP!
