2003 Jan 04 01:00:34 %SYS-5-REDUNDANTCLOCK_OK: Redundant clock recovered

anybody knows why I'm getting this message.

hi

SYS-5-REDUNDANTCLOCK_FAIL: Redundant clock failed

Explanation This message indicates that the redundant (standby) clock has failed. Clock switchover from the primary clock to the standby clock is prevented.

Action Contact your technical support representative.

Hi,

I agree with Mr Hogan that this probably a hardware failure and you should contact support representitive.

Its looks like your switch has recovered from a clock failure within the backplane. It have nothing to do with your HSRP configuration.

If you dont get this much, the logging is just for information purpuse.

This behaver should make the redundant supervisor to take over(if got one).

Is the system LED orange or green (orange=failure).

hi,

Actually we dont have redundant supervisor within each 6509 since we have two 6509's.

anyway , the system LED is green , and the message appear fron time to time

is that normal ?

Hi again,

I recommend that you do a upgrade of your boxes to a new CatOS/IOS and maybe ROMMON code. If the messages still appear, make that call to support.
