6548 hot-swap quirk

We did a hot-swap replacement of a 10/100 48pt (WS-6548) card in one of our 6513s last night and noticed an interesting quirk on our servers. The card replacement went without a problem and the sho mod and log buffer looked good on the cat; however we noticed all our servers on this chassis that were connected to other blades had a 1 sec, or less than, blip in their network connectivity??? I would expect the hot replacement of a line card to minimize impact to that blade, however our server connected on other blades all showed a link up/down in their intel logs. the cat log buffer didn't show it, but the servers showed a simultaneous adapter down and then up in their evenvwr.

can't find it documented anywhere that a quick re-scan of the backplane would cause this, but just wanted to get some solid info for future reference. Anyone got an idea??

thanks,

chad

This is not an expected behavior. I suggest that you open a TAC case if you consistently see this issue
