678 DSL router VPI setting

Anyone run into a problem where the 678 will not accept a VPI above 3 when running CBOS version 2.4.1. The manual says that VPI up to 8 will work for CBOS versions greater than 2.3. The WAN link connects at the arbitrated VPI of 1, but pinging of the gateway never works.

One other interesting item. The MAC address of eth0 is FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF. Local network connections work to this MAC, but it certainly wasn't shipped from Cisco that way.
