We ve got a problem with our Router 7204 vxr ..

It actual configuration is

Rom: Version 12.2(4r)B2, release software (fc2)

Bootflash 7200 Software(C7200-Kboot_M) Version 12.1(8a)E

NPE 400

When the router Boot it wont load the boot flash , so I've got a Prompt like that

Router(boot)>

I saw on the Cisco web site that it is a bug ..and they soluce to upgrade the IOS software Boot ..

Do someone already have this problem

The ususl reason the router comes up with the boot prompt is either the config register is set to force it, ie with a value of 0x2101 rather than 0x2102 which will boot from flash, or there is not a valid IOS image as the first file on flash.

To remedy this, you can delete all files from the flash and TFTP a new IOS image however, be aware that the boot image does not support IP routing so, if you TFTP server is not on an adjacant lan segment, you will nee to include the

ip default-gateway

statment pointing to the next hop.
