7507 - feip loose interface

We loose both fast eternet ports f0/0 and f0/1, this feip is in slot 0, no lights on the interface card in slot 0, we check running config and no interface f0/0 or f0/1 found. All we have to do is power down the 7507 and the interface f0/0 and f0/1 we begin working for 3 to 4 days or maybe 4 weeks and then just go down.

We have replaced the feip interface card and replaced the 7507 chassis and one pwer supply.

We are still having problems.

This system has been up for 4 and half years and just started this 6 months ago. But is becomming more frequent lately. Also we have a current CASE with TAC.

Any ideas on what to do now? Help in West Texas

Re: 7507 - feip loose interface

Have you checked the device on the other end of the connection? If the other end is crashing, it may appear that the problem is local to your 7500 when it's actually a flakey port on the other device.

Powering down the 7500 may give the other interface a chance to reset, then you power it up and all appears well again.

Do you have any logs that show unusual behavior for that blade / port(s)?
