I have an early development release of a particular 2620 router IOS which I need to upgrade but I would first like to know what feature set I currently have so I can keep that same set for the upgarded version.

Is there a way to find out via the 2620 router ?

Check your SHOW VER info.

You'll see something like c2600-js-mz.

The "js" part is your feature set.

Check the following link for interpretation:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/620/5.shtml#identifiers

Mick.

Thanks Mick, looked at that link but still couldn't really interpret mine from doing a SHOW VER.

All I can gather from C2600-IOS56I-M is that I have:

56i = 56 bit encryption with IPSEC

But the M part, not sure ??

Also, I thought I had the firewall feature set as well ??

My System image file is "flash:c2600-ios56i-mz_120-2_XC2.bin". Can more be revealed from that ?

Any further help much appreciated

Mark.

Greetings,

You can get all the details from Cisco IOS Reference Guide at the following URL:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/620/1.html

Anuj

56i = 56 IPSEC

I=IP

O=Firewall

S=Plus

The M is to throw you off the track. :) It means that the image runs in RAM rather than Flash.

The best way is to use Feature Navigator:

http://www.cisco.com/go/fn

You need to be registered.
