Hi,

First it looks like you upgraded your box with newver IOS version, right?

Did you use the right image for your box and matched the memory reqs?

Looks like a software error to me (obvoius :-) )!

Could also be errorness memory...

Cisco advisory = Recommended Action Copy the message exactly as it appears and report it your technical support representative.

Try to upload the old IOS image with xmodem and se if the box starts without probs.

yes, I had upgraded my 2514 IOS

and the router work well after upgraded, so the image should right

and, when I finish it, I found that the flash trun to read only, why?

Normally, when you see the flash as read-only, your are running an IOS that is running from FLASH instead of RAM.

I agree with jamey as well!

Check your config-register (show version), should normally be 0x2102. If you need to change the register:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps233/products_password_recovery09186a0080094795.shtml

Also nice to know, is that C2500 only runs IOS in read-only mode. When you upgrade, the box reloads in write mode (flash).

Thanks everybody.

But if that C2500 only runs IOS in read-only mode, so how can i upgrade IOS?

and, I have two 8M flash memory, how can I implement a 12M IOS image into the flash?

When you do the upgrade (copy tftp flash), the box reloads and returns in writable mode, then starts loading the image.

If you got two flash cards and there not partioned, they are 2x8=16MB (check with "show flash") and theres no problem to load a 12M image. If they are partioned, you need to do "no partition ...." commands. You should also check that the amount of RAM is OK for your IOS image.
