About Configuration of "port debouce time" on Cat6500

To prevent interface status being error-disable, is it valid way to configure "port debounce time" on interfaces ?

The customer use Cat6500 with the following modules:

- WS-X6K-SUP2-2GE with Cat OS 7.2(2)

- WS-X6408A-GBIC

In the CatOS case, when the port debounce is enable, debounce timer is 3100 msec(fixed).

When I set the port debounce timer, the switch delay notifying the main processor of a link change .

So I believe that sensitivity link change will decrease .

Has somebody used "debounce time" to prevent interface status being error-disable" ?

Does the configuration produce another problem ?

If you have been using it, please let me know it.

Enabling the port debounce timer causes link up and link down detections to be delayed, resulting in loss of data traffic during the debouncing period. This situation might affect the convergence and reconvergence of various Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.URL
