About fastethernet port high utilization problem.

I have a 2-FE-ports PA in my Cisco7204.Recently I found the bandwidth utilization is very high,up to 11MByte per second with MRTG tool.

I want to know wether the high utilization will issue the PA crash.

So if yes, please give me some advise.

Thank you very much!

Re: About fastethernet port high utilization problem.

It could do, I had a 7513 with a 10MB interface that was recieving at 3MB per sec and that caused massive CPU hikes. What I suggest you do, is to throttle the sending rate of the concerned interface to something you would be happy with. traffic-shape rate 2000000 125000 125000 1000 This command above limits the interfaces sending rate to 2MB, with a burst rate of 125KB.

regards,

Daniel,
