About Nat

I have installed some routers 827 ADSL with a ISP which assign an dynamic public IP address.

Now , on user of one of this Lan require an access to an internal server.

I have to add at config:

ip nat inside source static tcp <inside ip address of server> {80 or 25}

<outside well-known ip address of server> {80 or 25} extendable

Well,

is the <outside well-known ip address of server> another address which have to be from ISP ?

thanks

Lorenzo

Re: About Nat

Yes, if the ISP gave you any other IPs, use them for your static mappings between the public IP and the private IP of the server. I don't think the 827 will allow "ip nat inside source static tcp 10.1.1.1 80 x.x.x.x 80" (where x.x.x.x is the IP of your router public interface). But you can try.

Re: About Nat

Yes, you shoud apply an IP from your ISP. Because the ISP also help to route the traffic to your server. So the IP should be assigned by your ISP.
