About Redundancy (HSRP)

Hi all,

We have a 6509 and We are about to install another Cat swtich for redundancy. but My Senior is considering Cat 4006.

Is that possible ? so the platform is not identical..........

Sure it will work fine. HSRP is not platform dependant and need not run on like devices to function.

Yes..But make sure the 4006 has layer 3 features(either Supervisor 3 Engine or a Layer 3 module)

Yes,you can do it with 4006,but if your 4006 is sup-2, you'd better NOT use port which on 4232-L3,because i had meet bugs before.
