access-list problem

"access−list 101 160.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 255.0.0.0 0.0.0.0. This list permits 160.0.0.0/8 only."

How to understand 255.0.0.0 0.0.0.0?

Re: access-list problem

access-list access-list-number

{deny | permit | remark} protocol

{source source-wildcard | host source | any} [operator port]

{destination destination-wildcard | host destination | any}

[operator port]

Your sytax on your list in msg is not correct syntax (see above).

Actually permit 160.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 is the source which is 160.x.x.x

255.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 is the destination portion of this ACL. Which states match

destinations 255.0.0.0 from 160.x.x.x.

Hope this helps,
