Adding New Catalyst

I have an existing Cat3550-48EMI and I want to add to it a Cat 2950SX.

Is there anything special i have to do. They both have a GBIC Inerface so I will conect them using the SC interface on the Cat 3550 to the MTRJ on the Cat 2950.

Is there any other configuration I need to do as I want to start adding devices to the 2950.

Giving VLAN 1 an ip address on the Cat2950, will it be seen by the network?

You are planning to trunk between switches I guess. Check the below link for more understanding

You'll want to set up a trunk and VTP. I think the 2950 only allows 802.1Q trunking so you'll go with that on the 2550
