Advantage of Catalyst 4500 series over Catalyst 4000 Series

I am planning to purchase 2 new Catalyst switch for our expansion project. Most of our swithces are 4006 which we purchased 2 years ago. Since this 4500 series is an enhancement of the 4000 series, what really are the benefits I will get if I choose to buy the 4500? By the way, I planned to include a Supervisor Engine 3 on one of this switch that I will use for inter-VLAN routing in addition to our existing 6509. Is it fine if I implement HSRP between 4000/4500 with 6509? Any suggestions would be welcomed.

thanks,

Re: Advantage of Catalyst 4500 series over Catalyst 4000 Series

With 4507R and Supervisor 4 Engines, you can have support for redundant Sup engines.

With 4500's you do not need an external AUX power shelf to power Cisco IP Phones.

Yes, you can implement HSRP between 4000/4500 and a 6500
