Ambiguous SNMP Community String error.

I've been changing the community strings we use on our branch Catalyst 1900 switches. Having updated over 300 of these without a problem I have come across one which refuses to accept the new setting and responds with a message:

"Error: Ambiguous community string, please choose another."

This only happens if the community string contains numerical digits. Does anyone know how to get round this? I don't really want to go back round the 300 other switches.

Hi John,

please could you confirm which sw version is running on a cat1900 that accepts the community string and which sw is running on a switch that does not - could be a sw related issue that we need to dig into.
