An unusual amount of Boadcasts from 6509

Hello,

Every onec in a while my users complain of slowdowns. During this time I see a large number of broadcasts of all types coming from the mac address located in the switch. This mac address shows up as the vlan's Burn in address. I am getting everything from eigrp, cgmp, ipx multicast and snmp traffic.

Has anyone ever heard of this . I have a sup 1 module with GIG/fiber and 10/00 copper modules. Nothing fancy yet. I will be upgrading to a sup 2 withan IDS module hopefully in the next month or so.

The broadcast storm could be due to a spanning tree loop or various other reasons. Have you seen any error messages. Check the logs for the error messages. Following link explains the error messages.
