ANI Database reorganization question

I had about 400 devices in my campus manager which were unreachable and I wanted to delete. I did a reinitialization and restarted the server. After the initial discovery - they are all back again. Is there a way to keep them from being discovered? And how does anidb find something that is unreachable?

Thanks

Re: ANI Database reorganization question

Hello,

Campus manager is finding these devices thru CDP. If you go on a router/switch and type "sh cdp neighbor" it will provide you a list...Devices that are not controlled by you but attached to your devices will show up...There is an exclusion piece in the admin portion of the cw2k interface...Where you place the seed devices, below you can exclude ranges as well..

Another means of excluding/not discovering these devices is to remove CDP from that interface/port so the device itself will not discover via CDP.

Cheers!

Blue
