Any issues with requesting NTP from an HSRP address ?
We have a number of devices that only allow for one NTP provider entry. To provide fault-tolerant time to these hosts we have been using a DNS "round-robin" approach where multiple addresses resolve to one DNS entry that we configure these hosts for and it appears to be working well. However, we were wondering if a more efficient solution would be to simply request time off a virtual IP provided by the HSRP of multiple Routers. Each of the Routers in the Standby group would be configured identically as NTP sources. We are looking for opinions on this option and are wondering if anyone out there is doing this or knows of issues with it ?
