Anything wrong with my situation?

Hello!

My 3640 has a Serial 2T (12in1) adapter( DSCC4 Serial) in the same slot 0 with FE,and a Mueslix-4T Port adapter (M4T) in slot 1.

The 'Serial1/0 is up' could be seen when issueing the ' sh int ' command as a 2M link circuit connected to this interface,but I can not see it as the same

circuit link connected to s0/0 or s0/1.But This interface adapter works well

when moved to a 2620.

By the way,the ' clockrate 2000000' could be seen with the interface config

without configuring,and could not be removed.

The IOS version is 12.2(5d),which is said to be a LD(Limited Deployment)

Version.

Anyboby knows where the problem is? If upgrading to a ED version will solve?

I think you are using the network modules in slot 0 which dont support WIC-2T OR WIC-2A/S.

If you are using any one of the network modules of the following , then you need to change the network module

NM-1E2W, NM-1E1R2W, and NM-2E2W

The supported network modules for WIC-2T or WIC 2A/S are NM-1FE2W, NM-1FE1R2W, NM-2FE2W, NM-2W and the supported IOS are 12.0(7)XK, 12.1(1)T, 12.2, 12.2T

But actually the module I use is a NM-1FE2W exactly. And the WIC-2A/S

is been recognized.

Do you think the IOS version 12.2(5d) running on my 3640 is somehow

not appropriate ?

Yes , the issue is with the IOS image.

Try using anyone of these supported IOS images

12.0(7)XK, 12.1(1)T, 12.1(5)YB, 12.1(5)YD, 12.2(1), 12.2(2)T, 12.2(2)XT, 12.2(8)T, 12.2(11)T1, 12.3(1)

Hi,

I have a WIC-2T in a Cisco 3640 chassis. This goes into the NM-1FE2W. What I found here is that the software version is heavily dependant. I am using IOS ver 12.2.7c and it works great.

What is the output from a "sho diag" when the WIC is in the 3600 chassis. You need to see that is says "analysed" and not disabled.

Use the Hardware/ software advisor for more clarification - very good if you are confused about versions etc
