Appletalk from flat network to routing

Has anyone ever migrated a appletalk flat network to a appletalk routed network. The current network is using dynamic appletalk addresses, when I put a sniffer on I see network addresses in the range of 65000 and up. About 600 workstations. When I place the cisco 4506 interface with an appletalk dynamic address (appletalk cable 0-0) it never allows the appletalk protocol to come up.

"appletalk cable 0-0" tells your router to get information from a seed router which you don't have. You need to specify a cable range which will make your router the seed router. Any AppleTalk device that isn't in that range will probably have to reboot to get a new network number.
