appropriate switch

Hi,

I have a small network(90users) on two floors. The area on each floor is approx 100*120m. The question relates to the appropriate switches used for the backbone?

If a cat6\5e cable is used are these connected to a port on the switch?

Matthew Palmer.

Re: appropriate switch

i would prefer to use Cisco 3560 as backbone switch which will have 24 10/100/1000 & client switches as Cisco CE500 which will have 24 10/100 plus 2 10/100/1000 as uplink which will connect to 3560. let the servers get connected to 3560. since 3560 is a L3 switch u can configure vlans also.

Re: appropriate switch

As per your reply pointing to creating VLANS with 3560 and CE500, Can you please guide a bit more from configurational point of view?
