Architecture Cat5509

Could anybody let me know the following:

I am aware that the cat5509 had a back plane of 3.6G, i have sup-iii and all the 8 slots populated with WS-X5225R, the ethernet ports in modules in slot 5-7 are having a problem that there is a lot of packet drops when large size packets are encountered.

The modules in slot5-7 have been swapped and also replaced without any change in performance.

How is the backplane divided among the 9 slots ??Is it that the slots are grouped viz. 1-3 4-6 and 6-9 ?

any further information would be highly appreciated.

mahe

Re: Architecture Cat5509

The following page lists the slot/bus assignments for the Catalyst 5000 Family.

If you are seeing continued issues even after replacing line cards, I suggest that you open a TAC case with all relevant info
