Are BVIs needed for RBE Config for DSL?

Hello all,

Can anyone advise if BVIs (bridged virtual interfaces) are necessary when configuring RBE (route bridged encapsulation) for DSL? I have a c7513 with an ATM interface on which I p[lan to configure RBE and want to know if a BVI is needed and why. Thanks in advance!

No..you don't need to configure BVI interface on the aggregation devices for RBE termination..Here is the sample config 6400 aggregating RBE..Same config needed for all the aggregation devices terminating RBE.
