I am currently running all of my cabling through a Krone IDF Cross Connect system and have several Async connections for Remote Consoles into Sun and Fujitsu servers. Some of the punchdowns were done with only one pair (w/Green and Green) for TX/RX. The connections seem to work fine, but I have a concern for the lack of grounding. Will the lack of a ground for these connections cause problems? Or is it mainly to keep things to spec?
