Hi,

I have an AS5300 with 4xE1/PRI ports. I have 2 E1 line from telcom which comes from different switches and i think have clocking problem. Can I configure NAS so that each E1 port get its clock from corresponding line? when i set "clock source line primary" on first E1 port the second one has problem ( it goes down and immediately gets up ) and if i set this command on second port the first one has same problem. Thank you.

Saeed.

No, we cannot get primary clock (from line) on each E1/ T1 port on the same NAS. The primary clock source is to clock the TDM bus . Only one source is capable of clocking the bus, hence the reason for the primary / secondary / network-clock-select and other various IOS commands.

Whenever you are connected to multiple T1 providers on the same NAS, it is recommended to set your T1's to recover clocking from the most accurate source. In you case you will need to talk to the providers to sort this out.
