asterisk in routing table. What is it?

From "show ip route" command, "S* 0.0.0.0 [1/0] via 172.19.2.2", what is asterisk mean?

Hi,

This is used to designate a route as a candidate default route. When multiple candidate defaults exist, the router will then select one of these to be the actual default route.
